Vote Obama

Ahhh, our lovely home, and yes, the Obama sign is there – listen, folks, unless you want more of the same, you gotta vote Obama. If you care about the war in Iraq, about global warming (and yes, it’s really happening and yes, mankind, is to blame for the rapidity at which it is happening), health care, social security – well, then your bests interests are best represented in electing Obama. However, if you like things just the way they are – and/or worse – well, then McCain’s your man. I, for one, am ready for a change.

This country needs a change!

I took this picture of one of our hummingbirds this morning – we love to watch them.
I was also called into service this morning. Genny wasn’t up to going to church, so I sat with her for a few hours this am while Buddy went to church. My guitar accompanied me and I played nearly non stop all that time. I must not have hit too many bad notes, because Genny said it relaxed her. She was kind of funny – she woke up and said, “Well, I slept through that one.” And in my mind I’m thinking, actually, Genny, you slept through the last five – it just seemed like one to you. Anyway, I got in some good practice and played a bunch of music I hadn’t seen for months. And Genny is really good for my ego – she loves all my playing and never seems to hear my mistakes!

Another Saturday Evening

It’s Saturday. I’m sitting here playing on the computer while Miriam irons her clothes for work. Yes, she will go in tomorrow morning for a few hours. While she’s away, I will play. Not sure yet what I’ll do.

It’s been a nice weekend so far. It was overcast and a little rainy today – but it was great for working in the yard – so we mowed and edged and trimmed – now it looks real nice. We like to have curb appeal.

I need to get out and take some pictures and post them here.

Oh yes, we have killed our land line – yes, we’re stepping out on the edge and going to cell phone only. We’ll see how they hold up if we have a hurricane this year.

Just for fun, I thought I’d post a picture of Peanut at the beach.

Ciao.

Week Three of 4/10

It’s now week three of working 4/10 schedule. I’m looking forward to having tomorrow off – I do feel a bit tired – part of that is because I didn’t sleep well the other night and haven’t caught up. So far, the last two Fridays have been very busy ones – both days I had to stay home in the morning because we had the garage door people here. I’m looking forward to getting an earlier start on errands tomorrow – maybe I’ll have time for a nap later in the day.

No guitar lessons again until September – we’re on summer hiatus now. Actually, it works out fine for me. I think I needed a break.

Since I hadn’t posted one before, I decided to post a picture of our fence.

The Fence is Up

For those of you in the know, our new fence is up – tomorrow they come to finish up and work on a short punch list we have put together.

It is such a relief to know that we can let the dogs out and not worry that they have to contend with the little terrors next door or that Peanut is going to climb the fence. We spent the entire weekend cleaning things up and putting down some new mulch. We hope to have a “fence party” sometime soon to celebrate the fortress!

I want to get more into this blogging thing – but, man, it’s sometimes hard to find something interesting to talk about. So, I need to take a page out of Carrie Bradshaw’s work – find a theme and write about it. So, I will think about a theme and when I come up with one I will write about it.

That’s all for now. Bye.

We’re in pre-vacation mode. Created a long list of things we need to do before June 7 – we spent most of the day running around and only really completed one item on the list. But, we did get Father’s Day cards – at least we’re ready for that. Had lunch at Outback – burger and beer! Yummo!

This evening we spend several hours watching Sex and the City – into season 3 – but the darn dvd player started acting up – I’m thinking that after about 3 hours of running it gets hot and starts to malfunction. The player cost about $40 – sometimes buying cheap isn’t a good idea. So, no more tonight.

In the meantime, Peanut crawled into Mir’s lap. Ain’t she precious?
