Silent Spring

Pay attention. You might want to do a refresher reading Rachel Carson’s “Silent Spring”. Here is a description from Amazon:

Rachel Carson’s Silent Spring was first published in three serialized excerpts in the New Yorker in June of 1962. The book appeared in September of that year and the outcry that followed its publication forced the banning of DDT and spurred revolutionary changes in the laws affecting our air, land, and water. Carson’s passionate concern for the future of our planet reverberated powerfully throughout the world, and her eloquent book was instrumental in launching the environmental movement. It is without question one of the landmark books of the twentieth century.

Your new President would like to destroy the EPA and is nominating an individual, Scott Pruitt, who would like to do the same thing. You see, folks, elections have conquences.

Now, you Trumpers can go fuck yourselves.

Goodnight.

Swearing is good for the soul

In three studies, at both the individual and society level, we found that a higher rate of profanity use was associated with more honesty.

The above quote is from a psychology journal.

So, there appears to be a correlation between swearing and honesty. I am completely honest when I say that Donald Trump is a mother fucker.

It’s clear that my core values are different from Trumpers’ core values.  And you white women Trumpers who voted for this abomination – you pretty much disgust me. Fuck off. That’s all I can say.

Odd Weather

This is my notifications screen from yesterday.

Interestingly, the entire day felt like a tropical storm. It was warm and balmy and windy and rainy. We actually enjoyed it – was a good laundry day.

Today it’s cooler and we expect it to get cold soon. Have to keep telling ourselves that it’s still January. You don’t think this could have anything to do with climate change? Nah. It’s just a Chinese hoax.

At the Helm

It was an honor to be helmsman for the day. Thank you, Captain Tomas for the opportunity to hone my skills.

Andiamo! Will be our ride for today.
Your helmsman inspecting the vessel.
Mark twain! Okay, maybe not really, but it was a fun time at the helm maneuvering from mooring to marina.
In route. Sailed with main and jib today. Light but sufficient wind.
Andiamo! Te amo.

Let’s go on a trip real soon, ya hear?

Hasta pronto!
